Taiwan offers a wide range of activities, from enjoying its culinary delicacies and visiting numerous tourist sites to exploring community-focused places and much more. However, if you are a big fan of cartoons, anime, games, and other entertainment media, there is one event you shouldn’t miss—Comic World Taiwan (CWT). Held annually in Taipei, Kaohsiung, and Taichung, this event is dedicated to media entertainment.
Billy, an Indonesian exchange student at CTBC Business School, is passionate about participating in various activities and events in Taiwan. He shares his wonderful experience at CWT, saying, “It’s an amazing experience with lots of people to meet, things to do, and delicious food to enjoy.”
One of the main attractions at CWT is the wide selection of merchandise, often created by original artists from Taiwan. The merchandise prices range from 20 NTD to 500 NTD. “There’s a great variety, from anime and games to movies, so there’s something for everyone,” Billy said.
Additionally, many attendees dress up as characters from various media, including Western, Chinese, and Japanese pop culture. You can join in by cosplaying and interacting with others who share similar interests. You can also ask to take photos with cosplayers or, if you’re a photographer, offer to capture their costumes. Billy remarked, “There’s an incredible variety of cosplayers, and they are both fascinating and stunning to see.”
Billy encourages everyone from CTBC Business School to explore events like CWT to experience Taiwan’s vibrant pop culture and meet new people. To find out when the next event will be held, visit their official website: C.W.T 台灣同人誌販售會.
