CTBC International Students and Professor Bond over Japanese Foods (Office of International Affairs)

Being an international student is no easy thing to do. As you are miles away from your family at a young age, you must learn how to stand on your own feet all the while working hard to attain an exemplary academic standing. This is how our international students do it their way.

In CTBC Business School, students are very blessed to have a strong support system, not just from their fellow students but from their generous professors as well. Dr. Chung Mo Koo, a Korean professor who teaches Economics, treats international students to a sumptuous Japanese meal in his favorite restaurant located at the heart of Tainan City. Paired with the stunning view of Taiwan’s ancient capital, the pack munches on, as the students have described it, the best meal they ever had in Taiwan.

Having experienced to live in Japan for years, Dr. Koo thought the students the best way to enjoy a huge pork tonkatsu such as mixing various sauces to get the perfect dip for the meat and getting the biggest chunk on your first bite to get maximum satisfaction. At the same time, students laugh over stories about their funny experiences living in Taiwan and even shared future plans.

While it is indeed a challenging feat to be an international student, the entire journey will be worthwhile in the end if you savor every experience that you get and every moment that you spend if your newfound friends. It is just a matter on how you brave through it. Now, what is a better way to enjoy your friends’ company than sharing over a delicious meal?
