International students experience traditional book binding (Office of International Affairs)

On April 26, after the midterm exam, Chinese Language Center teacher Zhang Chunqing held a Chinese binding activity to add interest to the language courses for international students.

Teacher Zhang invited a teacher from Tsinghua University Cultural Relics Museum who is proficient in traditional Chinese book binding to teach students to make one. This activity allows students to understand the background knowledge of the origin of traditional Chinese book binding. The students showed great enthusiasm and dedication in completing this task. Four freshmen from Okinawa, Japan also participated that day. Traditional book binding activities help new students connect with international students and learn about our school.

Students who attended said the binding experience was outstanding. While they are learning Mandarin, they also have the opportunity to learn knowledge beyond their majors, which is great! The students hope to have more fun activities like this in the future.
